The Events Facilities and Tourism Advisory Board’s (EFTAB) main objective is to make recommendations on the operation of the Tyson Events Center, the Sioux City Convention Center, Orpheum Theater, and Tourism and Visitor's bureau in a professional and businesslike manner so as to promote the use of the facilities and coordinate the promotion of tourism on a local, regional and state level.  Board members shall be people who, by virtue of their background, education and experience, have demonstrated their ability to accept responsibility and to use prudent judgment.

Membership:

Nine members of the board shall be appointed by a majority vote of the City Council.  Board members shall be people who, by virtue of their background, education, and experience have demonstrated their ability to accept responsibility and to use prudent judgment. 

  • One member shall be a representative from the board for the Orpheum Preservation Project, Ltd.
  • Three members shall be representatives from the hotel, restaurant, and hospitality industry
  • One member shall be a representative from the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce or Downtown Partners
  • Four members shall be residents of the City of Sioux City

One Council Member, one representative from the management firm for the Tyson Event Center, and one representative from the management firm for the Sioux City Convention Center shall, ex officio, be nonvoting members of the board.
