HOLIDAY COLLECTION: Gill Hauling observes the following holidays - New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. When these holidays fall on a weekday garbage service will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Regular Collection: Monday through Friday beginning at 5:00 a.m. Garbage, yard waste, and recyclables must be placed within 4 feet of the curb and set out no more than 24 hours prior to collection, and all containers must be removed from the curb no later than 24 hours after collection. Remember that all garbage must be placed in an approved solid waste container.  Beginning July 1, 2023, Recycling will be picked up bi-weekly, instead of weekly.  If you would like a larger recycle container or additional recycle containers, please contact Gill Hauling at 712-279-0151 or complete the form located here

Recycled Materials: Recycled material may be bagged in paper bags to help minimize the loose trash from falling out or having the wind catch it but is not required.  Paper bags are recyclable material and are allowed to be processed at the LeMars, Iowa recycling center. Please do not bag recyclable material in plastic bags

Yard Waste: There is no requirement to bag material, however, bagging yard material can help minimize the loose grass clippings from falling out or having the wind catch it. Wet yard waste, grass or leaves are notorious for sticking in the trash carts. Bagging the waste can help with this issue. Leaves and grass are recommended to be bagged in paper if taken out to the Citizen’s Convenience Center and placed in any bag if placed in their regular curbside trash or reused as mulch.

Recycling/Disposal of Unique Items: There are several options for disposing of items not accepted in your residential curbside containers. Check out:  What do I do with...?  under Garbage & Recycling Collection. If you don't see it on the list, call (712) 279-6222.

Citizen's Convenience Center (CCC): The CCC is a facility where citizens can bring bulky items, appliances, and electronics for disposal.
