There are several ways you can volunteer your time and/or resources in Sioux City. Explore the needs below or visit www.volunteersiouxland.org to learn about the many organizations throughout the community who are looking for volunteers.
Boards & Commissions - Apply to serve on one of the city's 24 boards and commissions.
Dog Park Ambassador - Do you love dogs? Volunteer to be a Dog Park Ambassador at the Bacon Creek Dog Park. Call Parks & Recreation at 712-279-6162 for more information.
Fire Rescue Citizen's Academy - Experience what it's like to be a Sioux City Fire Rescue firefighter through the 9-week hands-on Citizen's Fire Academy.
Litter Pick Up/Adopt A Street - There are several ways to beautify our community!
- Call 712-279-6396 to adopt a street and City staff will work with you to identify an area that needs litter pick up each spring and fall. A sign will be posted along the route with the name of your business, family or person you are honoring.
- Volunteer to clean up the city during the annual Litter Dash event each spring.
- Go out on your own or gather your community group to clean up the city anytime of the year. Call 712-279-6222 for bags, gloves, and reflective vests for your group.

Police Citizen's Academy - Become a Volunteer in Policing or experience what it's like to be a Sioux City police officer through the interactive Citizens' Police Academy.
Parks & Recreation - Help keep our parks clean and beautiful, keep time at track meets and more!
Public Meetings & More - Attend a public open house or informational meeting or participate in the citizen concern portion of a weekly City Council meeting.
