The City Manager is responsible for the administration of City Government and implementation of policies and programs as directed by the City Council. Our team is committed to providing results-oriented, practical, and creative approaches when implementing the Council's initiatives and vision for the City of Sioux City.

The Council-Manager form of local government combines the strong political leadership of elected officials in the form of a council or other governing body with the strong public managerial experience of an appointed local government manager. Approximately 60% of US cities with populations of 25,000 or more have adopted the council-manager form of city government.

The Mayor and Council Members are the City's policy makers, elected at-large, through a popular vote. As the City Council serves at the pleasure of the citizens of Sioux City, the City Manager serves at the pleasure of the City Council.
