The City of Sioux City Public Works Department provides many of the basic services that affect the daily lives of everyone who lives and works in Sioux City. Primarily, the Department is responsible for all the things we take for granted on a daily basis: the administration, planning, maintenance, construction management and technical engineering of the City's infrastructure. This includes the maintenance of the City's streets, alleys, bridges, street name and traffic control signs, and traffic signals, parking,  just to name a few.

The responsibilities of the Public Works Department are distributed among four divisions City Streets, Fleet Operations (CMG), Engineering,  and Parking.

To preserve and enhance the quality of life by effectively designing and constructing capital improvements for our customers. To develop, maintain and enhance infrastructure assets, and to quickly and efficiently respond to citizen inquires and complaints.
