The Neighborhood Network is a coalition of many Sioux City neighborhood groups that provides citizens an opportunity to take part in important decisions that affect our communities.
While each of Sioux City’s neighborhoods has different problems, residents of all neighborhoods want the City’s decision-making process to be responsive to their needs. The Neighborhood Network helps residents become better informed and provides a link between Sioux City’s neighborhoods and City Hall.
The City Council appreciates and relies heavily on our neighborhood leaders. These individuals dedicate countless hours of their time to “live in a better neighborhood without moving” as their motto states. Many of them are involved in other City boards and commissions and are constantly working to improve Sioux City. The City/Neighborhood partnership continues to benefit the City of Sioux City.
The Neighborhood Network organizes a number of community activities including: Neighborhood Cleanups, National Night Out, Neighborhood Events, Annual Family Fun Night, Red Ribbon Week, Crime Prevention, Neighborhood Beautification Projects, and many other activities. They lead and assist with fundraising efforts and other activities that have created improvement opportunities to George Street Children’s Park which is dedicated to all children who have been victims of violence or abuse. Members actively promote communication between neighborhood residents and city departments such as Sioux City Police, Fire, Community Development, City Council, City Manager, etc. which has resulted in a close working relationship. Neighborhood Network Meetings are held the second Thursday of every month, 6:00 p.m. at the Sioux City Police / Fire Headquarters, 601 Douglas Street. If you are interested in solving neighborhood issues, please attend the next meeting or e-mail rickarnold@myunitedagent.com for more information.

Neighborhood Coalitions
Neighborhood Coalitions are the eyes and ears of the city. They have the insight necessary to provide informed opinions on many local and city issues. Citizens meet monthly in their respective neighborhoods to develop solutions to local problems and enact those solutions. They form a protective network of concern throughout the city.
