 MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Inclusive Sioux City Advisory Committee is to advise the Mayor and City Council on equity and inclusion strategies that strengthen connections among diverse communities living and working in Sioux City and with the city government and members of the Sioux City Business and non-profit communities. The goal of this work is to create more equitable outcomes for the people who live and work in our community.

 MEMBER ROLE

Equity, inclusiveness and access are vital components in connecting citizens to opportunities for success and advancement in our community so that all communities share the opportunities and challenges of growth and change.

The role of the committee is to advise the Mayor and City Council on opportunities and barriers for the inclusion of all residents as it pertains to housing, transportation, economic development, public safety, community engagement and quality of life issues for people of all races, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, ethnicities, incomes, and abilities.

The Inclusive Sioux City Advisory Committee shall consist of eleven (12) members comprised of one (1) member from each of the following seven (7) groups:

  • NAACP
  • Unity in the Community
  • Native American Community
  • Religious Community
  • Latinx Community
  • Asian Community
  • Disability Community
  • LGBTQ Community
    and
  • Two (2) Residents at Large from the City of Sioux City
  • City Manager – non-voting
  • Member of the City Council – non-voting

 All members must reside within the Sioux City city limits.

Sandra Bass, Sara Berntson (Resigned 11/13/24), Nissan Brown, Erica Carter, Erin Cron, Peggy La, Glenn Moore, Jr., Karina Pedroza, Trisha Rivers (Term Expiring 12/31/24), Angel Wallace (Term Expiring 12/31/24), Alex Watters (City Council, Non-Voting), and Robert Padmore (City Manager, Non-Voting).
