Sioux City Food Truck Fridays returns this summer with a larger event and new downtown location.

The event will take place on Fridays starting June 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Historic 4th Street between Jackson and Jones Streets in downtown Sioux City. New this year are more food trucks, non-food vendors and partnerships with nearby brick-and-mortar businesses. Food Truck Fridays will attract dozens of food trucks and vendors from across the region weekly.

The community project became an instant success with its inaugural 2016 season. Last summer a variety of trucks routinely served more than 750 meals and processed 1,000 transactions each week. The carnival-like atmosphere boosted foot traffic downtown as many folks enjoyed lunch outside.

The event's popularity has helped gain major community support to ensure continued growth. Event sponsors include the Sioux City Growth Organization, Gill Hauling, Uptown Wedding & Event Rental, City of Sioux City, Downtown Partners, Springboard Coworking, Sioux City Ford Lincoln, I HEART Radio, Mercy Medical Center, and more.

Food Truck Fridays is a not-for-profit partnership among several local community development organizations with the goal to promote the downtown district through food culture and outdoor activity.
