On Saturday, September 24, 2011, the City of Sioux City and the Environmental Advisory Board will be holding an E-Cycle & More Collection recycling event. This event will be an expansion of previously held e-cycling events and is to be held in the Long Lines Family Rec. Center parking lot along Pierce Street from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This recycling program collects materials that can be recycled, reused, and refurbished. By not putting your recyclable waste into the trash, natural resources and energy are conserved, valuable and potentially harmful materials are recovered and landfill space is saved. The following is a list of vendors and the products we will be accepting:

Recycletronics DVAT –electronics and scrap metal (no plastic coatings)

Hy-Vee - plastic bags

Cartridge World –ink cartridges

Batteries Plus – all batteries accepted

Home Depot –compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's)

Goodwill –reusable clothing and furniture

So clean out your closets, garages, and storage spaces of all your aforementioned recyclables and pack them into your car. Drive to our event and we will do the rest!

Residents may find a price list for electronics online at www.sioux-city.org. Sorry, no whole, large appliances will be accepted.

The money collected will cover the cost of recycling as well as assist with community recycling education. Please contact the Environmental Services Department at 279-6222 if you have any questions.
