  • Riverside Clean-up Efforts

    Residents in the Riverside area who were affected by flood waters may take debris and waste to the Jackson Landfill, located at 1402 US-20 in Jackson, Nebraska, free of charge with an ID. Gill Hauling will provide additional roll off containers in the Riverside area for those affected by flooding.

    Water levels at the Big Sioux River and Missouri River have begun to recede. The City of Sioux City is reporting that water is no longer overtopping the levee on North River Drive.

    As of 2:45 p.m. today, the Big Sioux River was reported at 44.5 feet. This is approximately one-half foot lower than the highest point.

  • Riverside Flooding Update: Monday, June 24 – 9:00 AM

    The Big Sioux River in Riverside crested at 45 feet around 8 a.m. this morning. This is over seven feet higher than the previous record of 37.7 feet. While the levels have stabilized, water levels will remain high for eight to twelve hours.

  • Bi-Directional Traffic Along the Gordon Drive Viaduct in Sioux City Has Been Restored

    Following repairs, new permanent crossovers, and traffic control modifications, bi-directional traffic has been restored along the Gordon Drive viaduct in Sioux City on one side of the structure, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office.
