American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009
Description of the Investment
Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field (City of Sioux City) will utilize ARRA
funds to renovate the Airport Terminal Building. This renovation consists of
replacing health and safety equipment that has exhausted the service life of the
installation; improve the energy efficiency of the mechanical and electrical
systems in the facility; improve the overall travel experience of airport users;
improve the appearance and amenities of the Terminal Building and enhance the
security systems to improve passenger, tenant and employee safety. The
anticipated benefits of the Terminal Renovation project consist of reducing
operation costs and dependancy on fossil fuels; improved safety and security;
enhanced appearance to maintain existing airline service and to be better
positioned for additional air service.
Total Estimated Cost
The total estimated cost of the Terminal Renovation Phase 2 is $5,127,989.00.
Amount of ARRA Funds Used
Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field (City of Sioux City) will receive
$3,965,686.00 in ARRA funds to renovate the Terminal Building.
