JOB TRAINING
State Enterprise Zone Programs – A large portion of Sioux City has been designated as a State Enterprise Zone. This designation offers programs that provide tax credit incentives to businesses that expand or developers who build housing units in an Enterprise Zone or businesses that hire workers who live in the Enterprise Zone.
Western Iowa Tech New Jobs and Training Program – Western Iowa Tech, the regional community college, operates a program which provides training assistance to businesses that create jobs. The program captures the payroll taxes paid to the State and provides those monies back to the business as reimbursement for training expenses for the new workers. Training may take any form including on-the-job training.
