Road Closure – 4th Street
November 9 – November 19
The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department announces the closure of 4th Street at the railroad crossing located between Lewis Boulevard / Business Highway 75 and Pavonia Street. This closure is effective Monday morning, November 9th and will continue through November 19th. A detour will be posted utilizing Chambers Street and 3rd Street.
This closure is necessary for the installation of gate arms and other crossing equipment at the 4th Street BNSF crossing. New foundations will be poured to support the new gate arm footings. As the concrete cures, no thru traffic will be allowed on 4th Street due to the unprotected nature of the crossing. This work will be completed by BNSF crews.
Motorists are advised to please be alert to this closure and seek an alternate route.
